Light Chasers
Plein Air Painters of the Suncoast

One Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL 34236

Working Boats. Yachts. Sailing ships. Meandering paths and palms. A tiki bar with straw roof. And every other year, a huge sculpture show up and down the Bay Front covering the whole city with art.

Did we mention the sky lines? Skylines not just of the city but of the Keys that line Sarasota’s coast. There is the incredible arch of the Ringling Bridge with a little road just by the city side that goes under the bridge to give you even more views of Sarasota’s gorgeous bay front.

Should you want to wander down Main Street you’ll find galleries, side walk cafes, little shops and one of the most beautiful white churches that begs to be painted again and again. Sarasota is paradise.

Mangroves line the waterways. From Ken Thompson Park you can look over the city again. Right at the end there is a sailing school and you can often see the tiny sailboats with their 7 year old students learning to sail the bay. You never saw so many paintings.

If you want to know why Light Chasers have already over 500 members? Come paint with us in paradise. Watch the sun set over the ocean and find another spot that turns so you see dawn over water too.

Sarasota breathes culture. Opera, ballet, theater, symphony, and artists everywhere…..there is no month in Sarasota that isn’t brimming with things to do and places to paint. There is no bad time to come to Sarasota. Our summers may have tropical rains in the afternoon but we are always rewarded with the most glorious of cumulous clouds that climb miles into the air. Yes, we are noted for our perfect lovely winters. But the people who live here year round will tell you that we do indeed have our seasons. In one season tall grasses turn pink and in another they are bright green or gold. Come paint Sarasota. Come paint Paradise with the Light Chasers.
