QUICK DRAW CONTEST

• Date: Wednesday, December 11, 2024

• Time: 7:30am to 1:pm

• Entry Fee: The $30.00 Entry Fee is accepted up to the start of the Event at 8:30am. Cash & Checks only.

• Painting Time: 8:30am to 10:30am

• Judging: Judging begins at 11:15am until 12:00 Noon. Prizes will be announced at Noon.

• Stamping: Each work submitted for Judging must be stamped on the back of your painting surface. We will stamp up to 2 surfaces at Registration.

• The Quick Draw is open to all artists 18 years of age or older.

• Check In: All artists check in at the FARMER'S MARKET at the LIGHT CHASERS TABLE between 7:30am & 8:30am. We will stamp up to 2 painting surfaces. Artists may set up their easels at any time prior to start time. Do get there early to have plenty of time to register, set up & be ready to paint by 8:30am. 

• Painting starts at 8:30am. Painting ends at 10:30am.

• Artists have 45minutes to cleanup & bring their painting & easel to the Light Chasers table at the Farmer's Market Entrance.

• Bring your stamped painting & your easel to the Light Chasers Staff. All Staff will have name tags. Staff will authenticate the painting, check you in, & show you exactly where to set up. You must set up ONLY where you are directed. Check in after painting is from 10:30am to 11:15am. Only stamped works on an easel in the judging area by 11:15am, will be judged.

• You will be given a label when you check your painting in. Fill it out & attach it to your painting, so it is clearly visible to visitors & the Judge. Label will have name, medium, size & price. Prices for Sale paintings will start at $75.00 and can go up from there to whatever price you decide for your painting. NOT FOR SALE paintings are allowed. Paintings sell well at the Farmer's Market.

• Sometimes the wind picks up at this location. Be ready to stabilize your easel. Some artists use a rope tied to their easel & then to a tie down that goes into the ground. Others use a bungee cord that holds a heavy bag. It is the artist's job to make sure that the easels are secured. Please bring what you need in case there is a windy day.

• The Quick Draw Judge will announce the winners at Noon.

• All paintings must be done inside Phillippi Estate Park. The Park has 60 acres.

• The Farmer's Market will be active during this time. You may paint at the Farmer's Market. Please be considerate of the vendor's space. The vendors have the right to ask you to move. If you do paint within the Market area, please ask permission from the vendors closest to your painting area.

• Requirement of the Submission:

• Maximum size is 16" x 20". Paintings do not need to be framed.

• Artists may paint in acrylic, watercolor, oil or pastel. Artist may also draw.

• Entries must all be two dimensional.

• Electronic painting or photography is NOT accepted into the Quick Draw.

• You can paint in the Quick Draw & decide not to put your work in for judging. We all have good & bad painting days. If you don't like your work, just put it in your car & come to the Light Chasers area to cheer on your fellow painters.

• If someone wishes to buy your painting, send them to the Light Chasers table by the Farmer's Market to pay. All Sales must be registered with the Light Chasers Officials at the Registration Table. Then the Artist will be responsible for handling the Sale with the Purchaser of the painting. 100% of the Sale will go to the Artist.

• All work may be exhibited & sold in the viewing area until 1:00pm when the Farmer's Market closes.

• The Light Chasers Officials will be in the marked area of the Farmer's Market at all times. If you have any problems at all, please come & find an official. 

• All Quick Draw Entries are submitted/left at the owner's risk. Although precautions are taken, Phillippi Estate Park & the Light Chasers are not responsible for damage or theft of paintings or frames for paintings in the Quick Draw. Submission of work constitutes an agreement on the part of the artist to the provisions here set forth.

• Any artist participating in the Quick Draw consents to the use of his/her name & image(s) for purposes of promotion & advertisement by the Light Chasers. The artist waives any claim, including any claim for invasion of the right to of privacy or copyright against the Light Chasers, their directors, officers, employees & agents. 

• Light Chasers has permission to use a photo of your work in future promotions. 

• There are NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULES. Please do not ask.
